A New Beginning

I've decided to start a web comic for my Digital Art final in a studio art class of mine.  I've always wanted to have a web comic/artistic journal (thing) and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to create one.  But wait, what does a little blog with comics have to do with digital art?  Many things!  Many things indeed!  Digital art has been growing more and more popular, what with our fancy photoshop and tablets (of which I have none ;_; fortunately the school computers have photoshop) to make an entirely new experience in the creation of art!  More and more people are also posting this digital art online as a way to expose their work to others around the world.  It builds this great, virtual online community of complete strangers who are brought together for a simple reason: they love creating and sharing art.  Although I still have a soft spot for fine arts (oh how I love charcoal, watercolor, oils, and all that fun stuff), some of the things I've seen online are so beautiful and inspirational, it truly is a great form of expression and it's something I would like to improve upon!  I've just started learning the basics of photoshop (the REAL BASICS), so I'm nowhere close to creating any master pieces, but I'm working slowly at it and picking up a few things along the way.  My goal is to continue this comic even after my final is due.  The topic of the comic might change every now and then, but it'll start off with what I know best right now: college.
